Digital Sunset Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Next Apps LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Digital Sunset mobile application (“Digital Sunset,” or “the app”). Digital Sunset keeps your schedule, app choices, reflections, and recaps on your device. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase information for Premium. This policy explains those practices and your choices.

Summary

  • No account is required. Digital Sunset does not ask for your name, email address, or sign-in information.
  • We do not transmit your usage data anywhere. Your wind-down schedule, chosen apps, reflections, streak, and recap data all stay on your device.
  • We never see the names or identifiers of the apps you shield.Apple’s Family Controls framework gives us opaque tokens only.
  • Premium purchases use Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes purchase history to unlock and restore Premium and provide purchase reporting. We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking SDKs.

1. What data Digital Sunset handles

Digital Sunset is a nightly wind-down tool for your phone. To deliver that function, the app stores the following information locally on your deviceusing Apple’s SwiftData framework and App Group storage:

  • Your chosen wind-down and wake-up times, and which days the schedule is active.
  • Opaque Application and Category tokens provided by Apple’s FamilyActivityPickerrepresenting the apps you’ve chosen to allow or block. These tokens cannot be resolved by Digital Sunset or by us to any app name, bundle identifier, or usage history.
  • Any text you type into the “reflection” prompt when you request an override, and the timestamp of that override.
  • Your nightly adherence summary (shield activation counts, alarm events, override counts) used to display the morning recap.
  • Your current streak count, if you opt in to streak tracking.

This data remains on your device. It is backed up through your normal iCloud device backup, if enabled, under Apple’s privacy terms. Digital Sunset itself does not transmit, upload, or synchronize this information to any server we operate.

2. Permissions Digital Sunset requests

  • Screen Time (FamilyControls, .individualauthorization). Required to apply shields to apps during your scheduled wind-down window. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time, which will disable Digital Sunset’s enforcement.
  • Notifications. Used to deliver the 15-minute pre-bedtime reminder you configure.
  • Alarms (AlarmKit). Used to play the morning wake-up alarm through Silent mode and Focus modes.

3. Third parties

Digital Sunset uses Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat for Premium. The app contacts RevenueCat to retrieve offerings, validate purchases, restore purchases, and check entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase history and an anonymous app user ID for those purposes and purchase analytics. We do not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, schedule, app choices, reflections, or recaps. We do not use third-party advertising, crash reporting, attribution, or behavioral analytics SDKs, and we do not use purchase data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

4. Children

Digital Sunset is intended for adults managing their own device usage. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Digital Sunset does not ask users for their age or contact details.

5. Your rights

Access, deletion, portability

You can view your schedule and history inside the app. To delete local schedule, app-choice, reflection, and recap data, uninstall the app. To export local data, you may use iOS’ standard device backup. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. For questions or requests about purchase information processed through RevenueCat, contact support@nextapps.fun. You can remove locally stored data by deleting the app.

California residents (CCPA and CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information a business collects, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell purchase information or share it for cross-app advertising. For questions or requests about information processed through RevenueCat, contact support@nextapps.fun.

6. Security

Digital Sunset relies on Apple’s on-device encryption, App Group sandboxing, and Family Controls framework to protect locally stored information. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase information to provide Premium and restore purchases.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes that affect how information is collected or used will be announced in the app prior to taking effect.
